It's 50 years since the release of the film based on The Ipcress File, a 1962 spy thriller by best-selling British author Len Deighton. To mark the anniversary, Deighton's biographer, Edward Milward-Oliver, has devised a moviegraphic for the , The Ipcress File: Still hip at 50, which notes the author was a freelance commercial illustrator and wrote The Ipcress File as a diversion without expecting it to be published; it has never been out of print. The 1965 movie, starring Michael Caine, broke box-office records and cleverly exploited [character - Harry Palmer's off-duty skills to reinforce the differentiation with [producer - Harry Saltzman's other serial hero, James Bond . Palmer is portrayed as a keen cook and his passion for caffeine helped quadruple coffee-bean sales in Britain. As Milward-Oliver says, he made it cool for men to go shopping and prepare food with style and vigour in the 1960s . Deighton himself is a fine cook and used to create weekly cookstrips in The Observer, which are echoed in the design of the moviegraphic. http://www.burberryoutletonline.name/ - burberry outlet online At the time, he was living in Key West and working on 鈥淔reedom,鈥?a visually arresting tribute to Edouard Manet鈥檚 famous from the early 1860s. Umbrellas http://www.toms.net.co/ - toms IN THEATERSThe critics may have blasted Jupiter Ascending starring Channing Tatum, Mila Kunis and Eddie Redmayne but I have to admit that I thoroughly enjoyed it. It had a unique story, and it was very imaginative, exciting and action-packed. The costumes were fantastic, particularly Kunis wedding ensemble, and the special effects were impressive, especially Tatum s flying skates.Controversy aside, I thought the creators did a good job adapting 50 Shades of Grey from book to film. Dakota Johnson and Jamie Dornan wouldn t have been my first picks for Anastasia Steele and Christian Grey, but they did the parts justice. Grey s dialogue came off laughable at times, but it did stay true to the novel. The scandalous scenes were paired down enough that it didn t get too awkward.ON DVDHard as I tried, I could not get into John Wick (2014), starring Keanu Reeves and Michael Nyqvist. This man-seeking-vengeance-at-epic-proportions plotline has been overdone, and John Wick didn t bring anything new to the table. After being wronged, he killed anyone who crossed him, and his path of destruction was so ludicrous that I just stopped caring. Dracula Untold (2014) starring Luke Evans, Dominic Cooper and Sarah Gadon was a short (just 90 minutes) but concise and thrill-filled reimagining of how Dracula came to be. I liked the spin of Dracula being a man who turned to darkness to try to protect his family and kingdom. Associate EditorLA PAZ COUNTY, Ariz. - La Paz County Sheriffs charged Victor Silva, 27, of Marin County, California on March 1 with first degree murder of Stephanie Hill, 37, after Hill and Silva led law enforcement on a 100-mile car chase that stretched through two states Feb. 28. A Riverside County Sheriff deputy shot and killed Hill after the two ditched the car when it became incapacitated after hitting a spike strip on Interstate 10's California-Arizona bridge. La Paz County Sheriff Lt. Curt Bagby said the first-degree murder charge is based on the Arizona felony murder rule where a person can be charged if a felony act is committed that indirectly caused the death of an individual. Sonoma County sheriff deputies sought Silva, Hill, and third suspect, John Bruno Martinez for questioning in the murder of an 84-year-old Penngrove, California woman. Olga May Dinelli, the victim, was found dead in her home the morning of Feb. 27. Sonoma County detectives discovered through their investigation that the three suspects were possibly involved in Dinelli's death. The following day, Sonoma County detectives learned that Silva and Hill were in a rental car in the Indio, California area. Riverside County sheriff deputies attempted to pull the vehicle over near Dillon Road and Interstate 10 in Coachella, California. Instead, the suspects drove off and onto the interstate eastbound. California Highway Patrol joined the chase all while the shots were reportedly fired from the suspect's car. CHP laid spike strips in an effort to stop the vehicle, which the suspects drove over and continued. As the pursuit neared the Arizona state line, La Paz County Sheriff's Department, Arizona Department of Public Safety (DPS), and Quartzsite Police Department were notified. The suspects drove through the Blythe area on Interstate 10, and fired numerous rounds at motorists. As the suspects continued across state lines, one of the suspects in the vehicle opened fire on a Quartzsite (Arizona) Police officer, who was laying spike strips in the roadway in attempt to slow the suspect vehicle. The Quartzsite Police officer was not injured. The car continued for another approximate mile. When the car stopped, Hill and Silva ran into the desert and down a ravine with law enforcement chasing close behind. Silva surrendered while Hill refused to "surrender and drop the gun" resulting in her being shot and killed.A grand jury will hear the case and the Arizona Attorney General's office will decide whether to add charges of aggravated assault and flight/pursuit charges in addition to the first-degree murder.Law enforcement arrested Martinez without incident Feb. 28 in Richmond, California.Silva currently sits in La Paz County Jail in Parker; it is unknown, at this time, when he will be extradited to Sonoma County to face the homicide charge.La Paz Funeral Home took custody of Hill's body that was then transported to Pima County Medical Office in Tucson, Arizona for an autopsy. http://www.hollister.eu.com/ - hollister There are a lot of people who think it would be a great idea to get a puppy at the same time that they have a new baby. They have images of Instagram moments of their adorable little puppy cuddling with their cute little baby. While this might be great in theory and in staged YouTube videos, the reality is you will end up with two babies that will both wake up in the middle of the night and cry, two babies that will need to be housebroken, and two babies that will destroy your house with the force of an indoor cyclone. The worst part though, is the possibility that someone might stop you on the street when you are walking the dog and carrying the baby and tell you how cute the puppy is but they won锟絫 say a word about the kid.We waited until our kids were 3 and 5 to get a dog. It worked out great for us. Not only did the dog eat all the food my kids dropped on the floor, but he licked the kids锟?faces clean.Although I liked the dog well enough when we got him, I never expected that within a matter of months, he would actually become my favorite 锟絚hild.锟?In fact, by the time my kids became teens, I had written them out of my will and left everything to the dog. Sadly, several years ago our dog passed on to that great doghouse in the sky. Then we got another dog. Although I never thought I could love another dog as much as our first one, I锟絭e actually grown to love this dog, too, and not so surprisingly, there are times I also like him better than my kids. All shedding aside, he锟絪 a darn good dog and when people ask me why I prefer the dog to the kids, I tell them: 1. My dog doesn锟絫 have opposable thumbs. This means I don锟絫 have to yell at him to stop texting at the table or stop killing zombies on the Xbox or stop checking Facebook. Of course I never have to yell at my kids to stop licking themselves in inappropriate places, so it may be a draw. 2. My dog will eat anything he finds in his bowl. He will also eat anything he finds on the floor, on the counter, in the laundry basket, or outside, dead or alive. Not that I want my kids to eat slugs and rocks, but something other than pizza chicken nuggets once in a while would be nice.3. My dog doesn锟絫 beg for every new gadget he sees on TV. He is perfectly happy to play with a dirty sock all day. And then have it for dinner.4. My dog doesn锟絫 take money out of my wallet without asking me. But then again, my kids don锟絫 drool into my handbag. Well, not anymore, anyway.Page 2 of 2 - 5. My dogs think my jokes are funny. I don锟絫 know this for sure, but he doesn锟絫 groan and roll his eyes when I tell a joke, so I锟絤 assuming he finds me funny. My kids will actually laugh sometimes, too. As long as I bribe them with candy. 6. My dog doesn锟絫 mind if I smell bad or pass gas. In fact, I锟絤 pretty sure this makes me more popular with him. 7. My dog was housebroken in three months. It took my kids three years to get potty-trained. On the flip side, I don锟絫 have to follow my kids around with a poop bag. Well, not anymore, anyway. 8. My dog doesn锟絫 whine about doing homework. Probably because he doesn锟絫 get any homework. He does, however, chew up the kids homework, but only if they leave it on the floor (see reason No. 2).9. My dog thinks I锟絤 cool. He never tells me I embarrass him with my singing, or my pants look like 锟絤om jeans,锟?or my socks taste funny. Actually my kids don锟絫 do that last one either. 10. My dog loves me unconditionally. So do my kids, actually. As long as I bribe them with candy.Become a fan of Lost in Suburbia on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/LostinSuburbiaFanPage.
